Building the First Church
On June 1, 1950, the Russellville Church of God was established with ten members transferring from the Morristown Church of God. The new church needed a building and members of the Russellville Community donated not only land, but also trees for lumber which men of the church cut themselves. With Rev. B.O. Cantrell as pastor, the church began. Several pastors led the church in the following years, and under the leadership of Rev W.R. & Patsy Morrisett the small church was bricked and bathrooms were added. The small brick building has since held Children's Church, a Youth Building and is still used by the church today.
